Few traditions have stood the test of time with such originality as horchata, a drink which, in Valencia, is a veritable institution and the true emblem of our culinary culture.
The preparation and flavour of this refreshing drink are just as special as Horchata Day, which has been celebrated every year since 1969.
This year’s event will take place on 8 July 2026 in Alboraia, where the unmistakable aroma of freshly squeezed tiger nuts will be in the air.
Fancy coming along for a nice cold drink?
Throughout the day, you’ll be able to sign up for interactive workshops, go on guided walks through the tiger nut fields accompanied by farmers and horchata makers, and, of course, enjoy tastings of this iconic drink.
At 12:00 p.m. – Traditional mass distribution of horchata and fartons – Avenida de l’Orxata
At 12:00 a.m. – Orxatast Backpacks: free tastings of horchata and fartons – Recinto ferial
To experience the tradition right from the start, you can sign up for these experiences:
At 10:00 a.m. in Spanish and at 12:00 p.m. in English – ‘Orxata Tour’ with Món Orxata – Calle Teixidors, 7
