Fallas 2026 Illuminated Streets Contest

When the biggest festival approaches, València transforms: churro stalls everywhere, gunpowder in the air, decorated streets and an atmosphere that only happens once a year.

And if there is something that marks the beginning of the Fallas spectacle, it is the Fallas Illuminated Streets Competition, where different commissions compete to turn their avenues into true works of luminous art.

Where to see the Fallas lights 2026

This competition has two categories.

Category «A» brings together the large light structures, authentic luminous tunnels and spectacular installations that take over entire streets.

This year special attention goes to Falla Malvarrosa-Antonio Ponz-Cavite, which presents the show “The Jewel of València”, a light and music spectacle taking place from 7 to 19 March. The inauguration will be on Saturday the 7th at 20:30, with musical lighting, a surprise performance and a fireworks display. That night there will be sessions until midnight and a party with the Shakara Orchestra.
From 8 to 12 March there will be three daily sessions (20:00, 21:00 and 22:00), extended on Friday the 13th with an additional one at 12:00. On Saturday the 14th sessions will take place every hour until midnight, and on Sunday the 15th until 23:00.
During the main Fallas days, 16, 17 and 18 March, there will be shows every hour between 20:00 and 00:00. The closing will take place on 19 March, with the final sessions at 19:30, 20:30 and 21:00.

The classic favourites return with displays that promise to leave you speechless:

• 1st LIGHTING PRIZE 2026: Falla Cuba-Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico Street, 54, Ruzafa), winner for the last 8 consecutive years.

• 2nd LIGHTING PRIZE 2026: Falla Sueca-Literat Azorín (Literato Azorín Street, 5, Ruzafa)

• 3rd LIGHTING PRIZE 2026: Falla Malva-Rosa-Antoni Ponz-Cavite (Malva-Rosa Avenue, 92, Poblados Marítimos)

• 4th LIGHTING PRIZE 2026: Falla Cuba-Literat Azorín (Literat Azorín Street, 37, Eixample)
