On 1st March, the first of the mascletas (an explosion of firecrackers) in the square in front of the City Hall announces the start of the festival period, although the most important events begin on the 16th, by which time the city has been decorated with over 700 symbols and figures. On 17th and 18th a floral offering to our Lady of the Forsaken. At midnight on 19th, the fallas, are set alight and burnt. See the full list of events for Las Fallas.

 

FEBRUARY

 

Sunday 24 February

•             07:20 - Children's despertà, a “wake-up call” to announce that the Fallas are on their way.

•             07:30 – Macrodespertà, ending with spectacular fireworks. A Fallas breakfast will then be offered to all participants.

•             12:00 - Entrance of Marching Bands.

•             14:00 - Mascletà (a firecracker display) at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             20:00 - Crida (the event that marks the beginning of festivities) at the Serranos Towers, concluding with light and colour effects with a fireworks display.

Friday 1 March

Saturday 2 March

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             17:00 - Ninot (Fallas figures) Parade, with the following route: Departure from the Glorieta, towards Calle de la Paz, Sant Vicente, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Marqués de Sotelo and ending on Calle de Játiva. The Parade will conclude with the entrance of the main pieces of the municipal Falla.

•             00:00 - Colourful Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Sunday 3 March

•             10:00 - Cant de l’Estoreta singing contest, organised by the Falla located on Plaza del Árbol and sponsored by the Central Fallas Board.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             18:30 - Great Sports Gala at the Palau de Les Arts.

Wednesday 6 March

•             12:00 - On the esplanade of the bullring, the Plaza de Toros, inauguration of the 19th edition of FOTUR (Federation of Leisure, Tourism, Games, Recreational Activities and Related Industries). The Great Fallas Horchatada and Naranjada fest 2018, with the traditional give-away of Valencian orange juice and horchata, the typical tiger nut drink.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Thursday 7 March

•             12:00 - On the esplanade of the Plaza de Toros, the 19th edition of FOTUR. The Great Fallas Horchatada and Naranjada fest 2018 (see Wednesday 7 March)

•             18:00 - Tribute by the Armed Forces to the falleras mayores (Fallas queens) of Valencia.

Friday 8 March

•             12:00 - Departure of the l’Antigor Fallas Car Rally.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             12:00 - Extraordinary Fallas Concert, by the Valencia Municipal Band

•             19:00 - Heritage Parade organised by the City Council, departing from the Lonja, María Cristina and Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             09.00 - Plantà (the final assembly of the Fallas monuments) of all children’s Fallas.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             17:00 - Closing ceremony of the Children’s Ninot Exhibition.

•             17:30 - Reading of the popular verdict and announcement of the 2018 Ninot Indultat.

•             17:45 - Route of the ninots on the part of the Fallas commissions.

•             00:00 - L’alba de les Falles, synchronised fireworks displays throughout the city, with the main fireworks display at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

Saturday 16 March

•             08.00 - Plantà of all of the Fallas.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             16:30 - On the stand installed in front of the City Hall, distribution of the prizes obtained by the children’s Fallas in the different sections, along with those obtained for the children’s presentations, the Ninot Parade and the Fallas booklets.

•             00:00 - Fireworks display on Paseo de la Alameda.

Sunday 17 March

•             09:00 - On the stand installed in front of the City Hall or Ayuntamiento, distribution of the prizes obtained by the Fallas in the different sections, along with those obtained in the street lights and decorations contests, and for the presentations and Fallas booklets.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             15:30 -00:55 Floral offering to the Kingdom of Valencia’s patron saint, Our Lady of the Forsaken.

•             01:00: Fireworks display on Paseo de la Alameda.

Monday 18 March

•             10:30 - Tribute to the poet Maximiliano Thous, at his monument, located at the crossroads to Calle Sagunto and Calle Maximiliano Thous, with the special collaboration of the Falla Fray Pedro Vives - Bilbao - Maximiliano Thous.

•             12:00 - Tribute to maestro Serrano, that will take place at his monument on Avenida del Reino de València.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

•             15:30- 00:45 floral offering to the Kingdom of Valencia’s patron saint, Our Lady of the Forsaken.

•             01:30: Great NIT DEL FOC (literally, “Night of Fire”), a fireworks display on Paseo de la Alameda.

Tuesday 19 March

•             11.00 - On San José Bridge, the Falleras Mayores of Valencia and their Courts of Honour will make an offering of flowers to the statue of the Patriarch. Upon the end of the act, mascletà sponsored by the Falla Doctor Olóriz.

•             12:00 - Solemn mass in honour of Saint Joseph in Valencia Cathedral, led by the Archbishop of Valencia, monsignor Antonio Cañizares, offered by the Central Fallas Board and the Carpenter’s Guild, with the assistance of the Falleras Mayores of Valencia and their Courts of Honour.

•             14:00 - Mascletà at Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

• 14:30 – Macromascletà at Benicalap district.

•             19:00 - Fire Parade on Calle de Colón, from Calle de Ruzafa to the Plaza de la Porta la Mar.

•             22:00 - Cremà (burning) of the children’s Fallas.

•             22:30 - Cremà of the children’s Falla that obtained the first prize in the special section.

•             23:00 - Cremà of the children’s Falla located on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
