Dalí Exhibition at Bancaja

Categories: exhibitions.

"Dalí. Lithographs of Pantagruelian Excesses".

This exhibition features a set of 25 lithographs by artist Salvador Dalí, based on the series of novels "Gargantua and Pantagruel" by François Rabelais, published by Richard Breton in Paris in 1565.

The Bancaja Foundation is hosting this exhibition, which can be visited until 28 March. It is an event not to be missed if you want to discover more about the lesser-known side of Dali as an illustrator.

For these lithographs Dalí used Japanese paper and depicted a gallery of absurd and fantastical characters, moving between caricature and farce – the result of his unique world view.

The exhibition also includes documents, objects, newspaper clippings, a reproduction of images and publications, and three audiovisual pieces on Dalí which place this work in the artist's personal context.

Tickets are available at the ticket office for just €5, and this includes access to the other current exhibitions at the Foundation.

And if you don't want to miss a thing, book a guided tour at visitasguiadas@fundacionbancaja.es.
