The Centre del Carme cultural centre smiles on the festival

We are invited to see the glass as half empty in a year when the streets will be filled with neither gunpowder nor expectant crowds awaiting the cremà (burning of the fallas figures).

The cultural centre will be hosting an alternative celebration of the Fallas festival, providing space for two exhibitions by the creators responsible for the city's municipal fallas this year: urban artist Dulk and fallas artists Ceballos&Sanabria.

Rondalla del Fang is an immersive experience which symbolically links environmental sustainability and the municipal falla for this year.

Antonio Segura (Dulk) disseminates his message through the typical format of Valencian narrative in a meta-narrative which presents a visit to Albufera Natural Park through the artist’s critical, committed and contemporary gaze.

El Somriure de les Falles is the title of the exhibition by José Luis Ceballos & Francisco Sanabria, who have been commissioned to produce this year's municipal children’s falla for the 11th time.

The show presents the career of these masters in thematic and chronological order, the first time their work has been showcased at a centre for contemporary art.
