NEW EDITION OF VALENCIA CUINA OBERTA-RESTAURANT WEEK

Foodies have a date for their diaries from 30 of March to 9 April, when the city’s best restaurants will take part in the 16th Valencia Cuina Oberta Restaurant Week, with exquisite set menus for €20 at lunchtime and €30 in the evenings.

Dansa Valencia brings the best national dancers to the city

The Dansa Valencia festival, one of the main dates in the Spanish contemporary dance event calendar, returns to Valencia for its 30th anniversary with an interesting programme featuring thirteen companies, including six from Valencia: Otra Danza, Taiat Dansa, Titoyaya Danza, Cia Maduixa, A tempo dansa and the Ballet de la Generalitat. Check the programme and buy your tickets. There are also four shows at the square of El Patriarca in the city centre.

Semana Santa Marinera

Easter Week is celebrated in the maritime towns of Valencia and has three main events: the Procession of the Palm Leaves, the Procession of the Holy Burial and the Procession of the Resurrection. The origin of these celebrations goes back to the 15th century.

BOOK FAIR

The 52nd Fira del Llibre (Book Fair) is coming to the Viveros Gardens from 20 April to 1 May. There will be more than 80 stalls, making this event the ideal place to find that novel you’re looking for, some children’s books to introduce your kids to the thrill of reading, or a travel guide for your next trip.

MITIC BIKE, Valencia’s mountain bike stage race

Are you a mountain biking enthusiast? We have a new challenge for you: MITIC BIKE, a cycle stage race from Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences to the 2020-metre high Javalambre peak in Teruel and back, in just three days. With three stages, 290 kilometres and 6000 metres of cumulative elevation gain in a weekend full of surprises, this is the perfect pre-season event for both clubs and individuals. A three-day adventure where the biggest challenge is to complete the race. There is also the option of doing one single stage between Alcublas and Manzanera (98 kilometres). Registration is open to clubs and individuals and includes luggage transport, a daily classification, accommodation, meals, technical assistance on the road, a post-finish massage, and a support vehicle throughout the race, amongst other services. Registration Price is 139€ for the three MITIC BIKE stages, or 45€ for the single main stage

WIND FESTIVAL

The Festival del Viento (Wind Festival) will take place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April in an unbeatable setting next to the sea. On the stretch of beach between Calle Pintor Ferrandis and Avenida Mediterráneo, this aerial event will fill the skies of Valencia with kites of all sizes and colours. Spectacular, daring and creative are just some of the words we could use to describe this festival in which people and the wind come together to create art.

THE WINE, CAVA AND LIQUOR FESTIVAL OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY

PALAU DE LES ARTS 2016/2017 SEASON

On 1 October the Palau de les Arts raises the curtain on a new season with ‘L’Elisir d’Amore’ by Gaetano Donizetti. This will be followed by works such as I vespri siciliani by Giuseppe Verdi, Philemon und Baucis by Franz Joseph Haydn, Lucrezia Borgia by Gaetano Donizetti, Werther by Jules Massenet and Tancredi by Gioachino Rossini, amongst other operas. The Palau de les Arts will also host the ballet El sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat) by Manuel de Falla, and concerts by artists of the calibre of Miguel Bosé, Antonio Orozco and José Mercé.
