Activities with children
From 2 to 11 December
RUZAFA LOVE KIDS
Ruzafa, the “fashion district”, once again celebratesRuzafa Loves Kids, an event organised by and for children that takes place from 2 to 11 December, coinciding with the December bank holiday. Now in its sixth year, the festival boasts more than 200 activities for children of all ages - and their parents - to be held in a total of 65 confirmed spaces.
CHRISTMAS SHOPENING NIGHT
Valencia will once again transform into the stage for fashion and Christmas shopping. Given the proximity of the holiday season, the event is called ‘Christmas Shopening Night’; a really special experience that will fill the main commercial arteries of Valencia with performances, tastings, DJs, photocalls, activities with influencers, and all kinds of entertainment. There will also be special discounts, promotions and raffles.
Valencia Shopening Night is on 15 December and will be spread over the following streets: Colón, Don Juan de Austria, Hernán Cortés, Paseo de Ruzafa, Cirilo Amorós, Grabador Esteve, Jorge Juan and Sorní. The aim? To attract thousands of visitors keen to experience a truly original night's shopping full of surprises! This year the event organisers and the establishments taking part will give 5% of the participation fees to the Little Wish Foundation.

From 26 December until 4 January
EXPOJOVE, THE BEST PLACE TO ENJOY LEARNING
Flight simulators, scientific experiments, zip-line, archaeology, board games… Expojove is now a must for thousands of families during the Christmas holidays. A place full of activities, theatre, music, fun...and science! This year it will be held from 26 December until 4 January, coinciding as always with the school holidays.
Over the 10 days of the fair there will be dozens of activities, organised by both public and private sector companies. With science as the central theme, Expojove is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy learning together. It will once again be held in Feria Valencia. Don't miss it!

TAPAS EXHIBITION SPANISH DESIGN FOR FOOD.
The TAPAS exhibition offers a rich outlook of the most recent Spanish design applied to gastronomy. It involves over 200 objects related to cooking, the table and food that have become allies in development and innovation in Spanish cuisine.
The sample presents the carefully arranged interior design of restaurants and the architecture of the new wineries, together with a selection of novel graphic design applied to wine labelling. The exhibition closes with two talks specifically for the occasion by the artist Antoni Miralda and the ex-designer Martí Guixé.

RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION OF EQUIPO CRÓNICA
A large retrospective of Equipo Crónica, founded by three Valencian artists, with over 165 works that make it the most complete anthology to date on this artistic collective. The exhibition will show works from the simultaneous origin of Equipo Crónica with the Popular Engraving movement of Valencia at the end of 1964, to the last works in the change of the decade from the 70s to the 80s.

THE COLÓN MARKET CELEBRATES ITS CENTENARY
One of the gastronomic spaces of reference in Valencia, the Colón Market, will be 100 years old on 24 December. And to celebrate, this gastro market has organised exhibitions, gastronomic workshops for adults and children, guided tours, gourmet product tastings and other cultural events that will take place over the last three months of the year. Make the most of the market being in party mood to discover the more than twenty stalls and their gastronomic proposals. One hundred years adding flavour to Valencia!

PALAU DE LES ARTS 2016/2017 SEASON
On 1 October the Palau de les Arts raises the curtain on a new season with ‘L’Elisir d’Amore’ by Gaetano Donizetti. This will be followed by works such as I vespri siciliani by Giuseppe Verdi, Philemon und Baucis by Franz Joseph Haydn, Lucrezia Borgia by Gaetano Donizetti, Werther by Jules Massenet and Tancredi by Gioachino Rossini, amongst other operas. The Palau de les Arts will also host the ballet El sombrero de tres picos (The Three-Cornered Hat) by Manuel de Falla, and concerts by artists of the calibre of Miguel Bosé, Antonio Orozco and José Mercé.
