Shelter under the shade of the pine woodlands or lay your towel out on the sand dunes. Either way, El Saler is a beach to beat all beaches you have   tried. Grab your towel and suncream, it’s time to investigate.

Visitors to Valencia are almost spoilt for choice, with gold sand beaches so close to the city and then El Saler in the Albufera Natural Park.

El Saler is located to the south of the city, in the heart of the La Albufera Natural Park. It is bordered to the north by the Playa L’Arbre del Gos beach and to the south by the La Garrofera beach. A sparkling 2.6 kilometres of fine, golden sand is protected from the western wind by dunes and by a large expanse of pines of La Dehesa de El Saler – the Mediterranean forest – making it one of the most popular beaches in Valencia.

Many tourists wouldn’t stumble upon it by chance but take a short bus ride away from the hustle and bustle and you’ll find it, next to the clear Albufera lake, with a strip of land separating that water from the Mediterranean.

This beach has the coveted European blue flag the UK has heard a lot about in the news lately: the UK has fewer blue flags than last year due to stringent new bathing water standards that have been applied.

El Saler is also well known for its top-class golf course that has been ranked among the best 50 golf courses in the world.
