Here is something to get your taste buds flowing: Cuina Oberta is back in town! For ten days only, from 19 to 29 October, this is your chance to enjoy the best Valencian cuisine at unbeatable prices. Whether you fancy a traditional paella, prefer a modern take on Mediterranean dishes or want to treat yourself to a Michelin starred restaurant, make sure you book a table for Valencia Restaurant Week.
Since 2009, every autumn and spring Valencian restaurants open up their kitchens – hence the name Cuina Oberta – to everybody with the most affordable and delicious set of menus, available for a short period of time. Valencia Restaurant Week is a true gastronomic feast, when chefs unleash their creativity to combine traditional Mediterranean ingredients with modern twists.
The best news is, of course, the price. You can enjoy special tasting menus for just 20 euros for lunch or 30 euros for dinner, excluding drinks. And there is even better news. Two of Valencia’s Michelin starred restaurants – El Poblet and Riff – are also taking part in Cuina Oberta with special menus at 35 euros for lunch and 45 euros for dinner, again excluding drinks. There really is no excuse not to try!
You can choose from a total of 58 restaurants in Valencia, including seven new additions this year: Apicius, Atlántico, Blue Marina, La Boheme, La Ferrera, Q Tomas and Trencadish. Catch the autumn sun from the terrace of one of the many seafront restaurants, enjoy the trendy atmosphere of Ruzafa or the historic setting of the Barrio del Carmen… the choice is yours.
