The 17th Valencia Fashion Week will take place from 25-27 September when the next generation of designers will bring their collections under the spotlight to give the public and press a sneak peek at some exquisite creations. In what promises to be a striking event, the Fashion Week will take place across a number of historic locations across the city. In a festival dedicated to exclusivity and originality, fashion and culture will stroll hand-in-hand down the catwalk as an array of independent and specialist designers will showcase their Spring 2015 collections.
Each event will be customized to its unique surroundings and the style of each designer with shows taking place in 17 locations across the city. The Fashion Week’s official headquarters will be located at Centro Cultural El Carmen – an exhibition and cultural center located in a former 13th-century convent with a bell tower and Gothic cloister. The majestic and historical surroundings have been specially chosen to imbue and enhance the character of each event, as well as acknowledge the extensive developments that have taken place in the building over recent times.
The abundance and quality of each location will allow for an increased capacity of attendees, with exclusive access offered to members of the public, the press, buyers and sponsors all keen to see the latest fashions and styles that will hit the mainstream in 2015. The historical locations also give the classic event an innovative twist. Shows will also take place at the Salón Noble at the City Museum, Sala de la Muralla at the IVAM, Trinquet de Pelayo, Banys de l’Almirall and La Gallera. Thanks to the event’s dedication to providing a platform and exposure for young designers and a gateway to showcasing at a national and international level, previous fashion weeks have included some names that have now made it big.
As one of the most important fashion weeks in the whole of Spain, there is a dedication and focus to maintaining exclusivity and showcasing international collections with top models. To reflect the evolving style of the festival, there’s a brand new executive director in charge this year. Sales Tatay recently left her post as executive director at Spanish fashion brand Alex Vidal and was unanimously appointed to her new position at Fashion Week where she has spoken of her excitement about taking the helm of this consistently exciting event.
So whether you’re looking for inspiration for next season’s outfits or you just fancy mingling with fashion’s finest names in beautiful surroundings, Valencia Fashion Week is the place to be.
