Travel writer Annie Bennett visits Valencia frequently, and on her last visit, she was fortunate to meet with Michelin-starred chef Ricard Camarena, at his restaurant in Russafa. She writes about her experience eating his dish of cold, spicy soup of squid and cucumber, with coriander and morcilla blood sausage:

I had got through at least half my soup before it dawned on me that I was eating something cold. Somehow the spices and flavours had tricked my senses, making my poor little brain think that the soup was hot.

Annie also writes about Camarena’s other restaurant Canalla Bistro, as well as his central market operation, called Central Bar - she recommends some patatas bravas,  some grilled prawns, a cuttlefish sandwich… and a beer or two…
