DreamHack Valencia 2015: a gamer’s paradise

What to Do Comments Off

From the 16th to the 19th July from 10 in the morning until 10 at night, the Feria Valencia will be transformed into a fast-paced digital world. During these action-packed days, gamers from across the nation will descend on the city for DreamHack Valencia, the self-confessed “digital Woodstock” and the world’s largest digital festival where all things video game and computer-related will be heartily celebrated.

Fingers on the button

As one of the stops on the DreamHack World Tour, DreamHack Valencia 2015 is definitely going to make its mark. The festival offers some fantastic experiences for gamers and computer fans to become submerged in this online world, with entertainment, programming, design and music composition activities all under one roof.

The festival will be divided into three distinctive areas, with the LAN zone acting as the main centre of activity. More than three thousand participants are expected to attend the LAN Party – a landmark digital event chock full of activities with full-on, high-intensity tournaments at the centre of the action.

The ESports Zone is the place to go if you fancy watching some of the best players in the world competing in tournaments for prize money that goes well into the thousands. The final area – the Expo Zone – will host a range of stands and booths showcasing the products of companies collaborating with DreamHack Valencia. Visitors can receive special discounts on all things gaming-related, as well as test out video games for free and take part in raffles to win a range of awesome prizes.

The Intel exhibition area is one of the most eagerly anticipated; it is here that gamers can travel back in time and play some of the earliest versions of classic games FIFA, Formula 1 and Counter Strike. Visitors to the Intel space can also take part in a competition to see who can dis-assemble and re-assemble an entire PC in the fastest possible time, and have a chat with video game expert and Eurogamer.es director, Xavi Robles.

The gaming lifestyle

The DreamHack organisers clearly understand how important it is for their guests to live, sleep and breathe gaming, so a special sleeping area has been set up exclusively for LAN participants. Along with a number of food and drink stands, this means that you need never leave the compound for the entire festival!

The official DreamHack website offers a comprehensive list of everything you need to bring to make sure you can participate fully in the event. This includes a range of hardware (PC, cables, helmet/headphones, video console command) and software (USB Memory Stick, games, operating system set-up), so that you will be fully prepared to hit the ground running.

As the central business forum in the city and a beautiful historic building, Feria Valencia provides the ideal surroundings for the DreamHack event. Situated just five kilometres from the centre of the city, it is also a great base from which to explore Valencia’s many historical and cultural sights http://bit.ly/1MtI07X
