If there’s one thing that Spain knows how to do, it’s how to put on a good party after the sun goes down. The country is known for its fiestas, nightlife and sociability, with families and friends sitting at pavement-side cafes until the early hours with everyone from grannies to babies joining in the fun…
Starry, starry nights
And Valencia is up there with the rest of the country with fantastic nighttime activities planned for the summer months, with the ‘Nights at the Hemisferic’ program every Tuesday in July, August and September from 9pm in July and September and 10pm in August.
The special event will begin with a glittering live session in the Planetarium amongst the stars. A guide will explain all the main constellations and stellar phenomena that will be majestically projected onto the Hemisfèric’s huge curved screen. Illuminating the summer night sky, this fascinating interactive exhibition offers the chance to really understand the story behind the stars with an expert instructor to answer all your questions.
After the spectacular show, the grown-ups in the crowd will be offered cocktails to sip on amongst the magnificent backdrop of the Hemisfèric. For just 16 euros per person, this is an unmissable experience.
Under the sea
For those who fancy swapping stars for sharks, there’s a very different experience on offer this summer. In a sea-themed event full of surprises, guests will have the chance to sleep overnight in the Oceanografic amongst the sharks and fish and travel through the Mediterranean, Arctic and Antarctic in a whirlwind water adventure.
The action kicks off at 8 o’clock with fun-filled group activities followed by dinner and a nightlife event before the lights go out just before midnight. In the morning, breakfast will be provided, after which guests will enjoy an extra special free tour of the Oceanografic with an optional visit to Prince Felipe Museum and Hemisfèric. As the ideal adventure night out for all the family or a school group, it’s strongly advised to make reservations more than 10 days in advance as this event is set to be popular and places are limited!
You’ll be able to ‘sleep with the fish’ on every Friday of the year except during holiday periods and discounts will be available for larger groups and families, while school groups can apply for the experience on another chosen day. So the nights look set to be full of excitement for all the budding star-gazers and those who are brave enough to sleep among the sharks, there’s only one place to be this summer.
Come on down to Valencia City of Arts & Sciences for what promises to be an unforgettable night out…
